On a personal note in 2004, John and his wife Fair were called into para-church ministry to reach out to parents of struggling teens and young adults and are the founders of Prodigal Child Ministries Inc., a 501 (c) (3) foundation.
As parents witnessing the struggles of one of their own children and the blessings that followed, John and Fair felt it important to offer support and encouragement to other hurting parents.
A prodigal child, simply stated, is a child regardless of age who has rebelled against biblical and family values. The hurt, rejection, lack of support and understanding in situations involving such struggling families led the Brocard's to form a Bible Study and support group. The educational materials used to assist the couples in dealing with their prodigal children brought peace, freedom, hope, and a new understanding and purpose to the parents of struggling teens and young adults.
